Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has opened up about the reason behind his ongoing tension with respected rapper and music executive, Olamide.

While acknowledging Olamide's contribution to his career, Portable expressed that he felt the support offered was not sufficient, considering his status as an emerging artist at the time. He pointed out that Olamide’s involvement was limited to a verse on the remix of his 2021 breakout hit, ‘Zazu.’

Speaking during a TikTok livestream, Portable emphasized that although he appreciates Olamide’s input, he believes he had already attained a level of fame before receiving the rapper’s endorsement. In his words, “Is it Olamide that posted me and got me famous? He's my helper, yes, but I was already famous before he helped me.” He went on to assert that his popularity played a significant role in attracting Olamide’s attention, stating, “It is because I was popular that made Olamide help me. If I wasn't popular, they won't help me. ‘Zazu’ blew worldwide. My freestyle went viral.”

Despite his critical remarks, Portable still recognized Olamide’s impact in his journey into the industry, referring to him as his “godfather” and saying, “Olamide is my godfather. He brought me to the industry.”
