Athletic Bilbao midfielder Beñat Prados was left with a gruesome leg injury following a reckless challenge by Victor Lindelöf during their Europa League semi-final second-leg defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford. The incident occurred shortly after Prados executed a backheel pass when Lindelöf caught him with his studs, inflicting a deep gash on his right leg.
Despite the severity of the tackle, referee Daniel Siebert and the VAR team did not award a foul, yellow card, or red card—prompting frustration from Prados. He later took to Instagram to share an image of the wound, sarcastically captioning it: “No red, no yellow, no foul... play on.”

Athletic Bilbao later confirmed that Prados suffered a contusion and a laceration on the front of his right leg and required stitches. His availability for upcoming fixtures remains uncertain.

On the pitch, Bilbao initially took the lead through Mikel Jauregizar, but Manchester United responded emphatically with goals from Mason Mount (twice), Casemiro, and Rasmus Højlund, sealing a 4–1 win on the night and a 7–1 aggregate victory. Erik ten Hag’s side now advance to the Europa League final, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur.
