Carlo Ancelotti has officially commenced his tenure as head coach of the Brazil national football team, unveiling his inaugural 23-man squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) headquarters on May 26, 2025.

Ancelotti's selection marks the return of seasoned midfielder Casemiro, who rejoins the national team after a two-year hiatus. The squad also features the inclusion of young talents such as Estevão from Palmeiras, reflecting Ancelotti's strategy of blending experience with youth. Notably absent from the list are Neymar and Rodrygo, with Ancelotti confirming that he personally communicated with Neymar regarding his omission.

Brazil currently sits fourth in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying standings with 21 points. Ancelotti's debut match as head coach is scheduled against Ecuador in Guayaquil on June 5, followed by a home fixture against Paraguay on June 10.
