Gian Piero Gasperini in Final Talks to Become AS Roma Head Coach

Gian Piero Gasperini is currently in talks with AS Roma’s management as both parties work to finalise an agreement that would see him appointed as the club’s new head coach.

The veteran tactician is on the verge of joining the Giallorossi following his departure from Atalanta, where he enjoyed a highly successful spell. Gasperini transformed Atalanta into one of Serie A’s most competitive sides, guiding them to multiple Champions League qualifications and, most recently, a UEFA Europa League title.

Despite having a contract with Atalanta until 2026, Gasperini recently confirmed that he would not extend his stay in Bergamo, paving the way for a move to the capital.

Roma’s interim boss Claudio Ranieri—expected to move into a director role at the end of the 2024–25 season—has reportedly played a key role in facilitating initial contact with Gasperini. Negotiations are ongoing, and a formal announcement is expected once all details are agreed upon.
