Hansi Flick provided updates on the recovery of Robert Lewandowski and Alejandro Balde ahead of their Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter Milan on May 6.
Lewandowski, who suffered a hamstring injury on April 19, is progressing well. Flick mentioned that his recovery is ahead of expectations, stating, “Robert is doing very well and his development is going much better than we expected.” While Lewandowski won't feature in the upcoming La Liga match against Real Valladolid, Flick indicated that he might be available for the Inter Milan clash: “He might be back on Tuesday.”
Balde, who has been sidelined since April 12 due to a hamstring issue, is also on the mend. Flick confirmed that Balde is “on the right track” and that the medical team is monitoring his recovery closely. While Balde won't play against Valladolid, he could make a return in the Champions League fixture.
