Lamine Yamal Commits Future to Barcelona with New Contract Until 2031

FC Barcelona has officially announced the contract extension of 17-year-old prodigy

Lamine Yamal, securing his services until June 2031. The agreement, signed on May 27, 2025, underscores the club's commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and fortifying its future prospects. 

Yamal, a product of Barcelona's esteemed La Masia academy, has rapidly ascended to prominence since making his senior debut in April 2023. In the 2024–25 season, he played a pivotal role in Barcelona's domestic success, contributing 18 goals and 25 assists across 55 appearances, culminating in La Liga and Copa del Rey triumphs.  

The new contract includes a substantial salary increase, positioning Yamal among the club's top earners, alongside Robert Lewandowski and Frenkie de Jong. Performance-based incentives could further elevate his earnings, reflecting his growing influence on the pitch.  

A notable feature of the agreement is the staggering €1 billion release clause, a strategic move to deter interest from rival clubs and affirm Barcelona's intent to retain their emerging star.  

Internationally, Yamal has already etched his name in the record books, becoming Spain's youngest-ever player and goalscorer. His instrumental role in Spain's UEFA Euro 2024 victory, coupled with individual accolades like the Kopa Trophy and Golden Boy Award, cements his status as one of football's brightest talents.
