Toure's role will complement his current position as the Under-18s coach at Manchester City, where he has impressed with his leadership and ability to connect with young players. His experience and familiarity with the club's ethos are expected to bring significant value to the team.
Toure played for Manchester City from 2009 to 2016 and won two Premier League titles. He joins a restructured coaching team that includes new assistant Pep Lijnders, formerly Jürgen Klopp's right-hand man at Liverpool, and set-piece specialist James French. Manchester City will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup with a smaller, more senior squad, and Toure will travel with the team to the United States.
