Gvardiol Crowned City’s Best Player, Outshining Haaland & De Bruyne

Josko Gvardiol has been officially recognized as Manchester City's Etihad Player of the Season for 2024/25. The Croatian defender secured the award in just his second season at the club, surpassing both Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland in the final voting.

Gvardiol played 53 matches across all competitions, the highest among Pep Guardiola’s squad, demonstrating his versatility by excelling in both left-back and center-back roles. His contributions included five Premier League goals, one of which—a stunning right-footed curler against Wolves—earned the Nissan Goal of the Month award in October.

Towards the end of the season, Gvardiol formed a formidable defensive partnership with Ruben Dias, helping City secure a third-place finish in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League. This marks his first time winning the Etihad Player of the Season award, following in the footsteps of previous winners Phil Foden and Erling Haaland.
