Omoyele Sowore, a Nigerian activist and politician, has stated that he would reject a National Award from President Bola Tinubu and would even take legal action for defamation if his name were included in the list of recipients.

This statement comes after Tinubu conferred national honors on 102 Nigerians, both living and deceased, for their contributions to the country's democratic journey.
Sowore took to social media to express his stance, saying, "If I were mistakenly included by Tinubu on his 'National Award' list, I would not only reject and denounce the award but also take definitive legal action for defamation."
Sowore's reaction reflects his deep-seated concerns about the current political landscape and his ongoing fight for accountability and justice in Nigeria. As a vocal critic of the Tinubu administration, Sowore's stance underscores his commitment to upholding his values and principles. He has consistently condemned the government's governance, corruption, and suppression of civil liberties.
