Marquinhos Completes Permanent Transfer from Arsenal to Cruzeiro

Cruzeiro has officially secured the permanent signing of winger Marquinhos from Arsenal, concluding his loan spell early. The 22-year-old Brazilian, who originally joined Cruzeiro on loan in January, had impressed sufficiently to prompt the club to activate the purchase option. Arsenal and Cruzeiro have both confirmed the deal, with Marquinhos signing a contract extending through 2028.

The move is reported to be worth approximately £2.5 million, with Arsenal also including a sell-on clause in the agreement—ensuring they benefit from any future transfer revenues.

Marquinhos originally moved to Arsenal from São Paulo in June 2022. During his time in North London, he made six first-team appearances, scoring once and providing an assist. He also had several loan stints at Norwich City, Nantes, Fluminense, and Cruzeiro.

On joining Cruzeiro, Marquinhos was handed the number 7 jersey. Since his arrival in January, he has featured regularly, contributing both on and off the pitch.
