Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has been officially discharged from hospital following treatment for acute gastroenteritis during the ongoing Club World Cup in the United States.

After experiencing sudden symptoms—including fever, vomiting, and abdominal discomfort—the 26-year-old was admitted to a U.S. hospital on Tuesday for diagnostic testing and supportive care. Mbappé's illness forced him to miss Real Madrid’s Group H opener against Al-Hilal, a match that ended in a 1–1 draw.

On Thursday, Real Madrid released a statement confirming that Mbappé had returned to the team’s training base in Florida. “Mbappé will continue specific medical treatment and will gradually return to team activities,” the club affirmed.

Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso commented that Mbappé had been feeling unwell in the days leading up to the tournament, and his fitness was being reassessed up until the final hour before the opener. While it remains uncertain whether he will be available for the team’s next match against CF Pachuca on Sunday in Charlotte, expectations are high that he might return for the final group fixture versus RB Salzburg on June 27.

During his debut season with Real Madrid, Mbappé netted an impressive 43 goals in 56 appearances—including 31 in La Liga—earning him his seventh league Golden Boot. Madrid currently trails Salzburg by two points in Group H and are determined to top the group and advance to face the runners-up from Group G in the next tournament phase.
