Italian–Senegalese TikTok icon Khaby Lame (real name Seringe Khabane Lame) voluntarily left the United States on June 6, following a temporary detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.

According to ICE, Lame arrived in the country on April 30 and stayed beyond the authorized period allowed under his visa. After being detained for the overstayed visa, he was granted voluntary departure and promptly exited the country .
The incident spurred confusion online after rumors circulated—fueled by screenshots shared by influencers close to former President Trump’s family—that Lame had been "arrested" or labeled as an "illegal alien" by the U.S. immigration services. ICE clarified that he was detained—not arrested—and that he left of his own accord under voluntary departure procedures .
Lame, who holds Italian citizenship since 2022 and boasts over 160 million TikTok followers, is best known for his signature silent reactions to viral “life hack” videos. His case reignites conversations around U.S. immigration enforcement, particularly under the Trump administration’s intensified policies aimed at visa overstays and undocumented residents .
