Arsenal are edging closer to signing striker Viktor Gyökeres following a fresh round of talks in recent hours. According to reports, the Swedish forward is not expected to return to training with Sporting CP, as he is fully focused on securing a move away from the Portuguese club.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Arsenal are now advancing in negotiations, with Sporting valuing the player at around €80 million. The deal could include a proposed structure of approximately €70 million upfront plus performance-related add-ons.
Gyökeres is Arsenal’s top target after a stellar 2024–25 campaign, where he scored 39 goals in 33 league matches. Talks are expected to continue in the coming days, with Arsenal aiming to finalise the transfer before their pre-season tour begins on July 19.
