Zubimendi Reclaims Iconic No. 36 Shirt in Arsenal Unveiling

Martin Zubimendi has officially been unveiled as an Arsenal player following his move from Real Sociedad, with the club confirming he will wear the number 36 shirt for the upcoming season.

The Spanish midfielder chose to return to a number that holds personal significance. Zubimendi originally wore the No. 36 during his early years at Real Sociedad, appearing in 52 matches under that number before switching to others later in his career. His decision to reclaim it at Arsenal reflects a sentimental nod to his professional beginnings.

Arsenal finalized the deal on Sunday, reportedly worth between £51 million and €60 million, after months of negotiations. The 26-year-old has signed a long-term contract and is expected to join the rest of the squad for pre-season at the Sobha Realty Training Centre.

Mikel Arteta praised the new signing, highlighting Zubimendi's intelligence and technical ability, and noted how well he fits into the club’s footballing philosophy.

The number 36 shirt at Arsenal has previously been worn by players including Emi Martinez, Johan Djourou, and Ismaël Bennacer.
