Bryan Mbeumo Takes Part in First Manchester United Training Session
On Tuesday morning, Bryan Mbeumo officially joined Manchester United training ahead of the club’s pre-season tour in the United States. The 25-year-old forward completed his transfer from Brentford earlier this week in a deal valued at approximately £71 million.
Images released by the club showed Mbeumo beaming as he participated in drills and ran through the traditional "gauntlet" exercise—an early indication of his enthusiasm and readiness to embrace life at Old Trafford.
In his first interview as a United player, Mbeumo expressed his delight at joining the club he grew up supporting. "Now I’m here—I’m really happy," he stated. "It’s the biggest club in the world. The fans are crazy, the stadium is amazing, and every player wants to play here." His optimism was clearly visible throughout the session.
Training footage also captured Mbeumo challenging 18‑year‑old defender Ayden Heaven, showcasing his intent to elevate not only the first team’s attack but also to provide valuable experience to younger squad members.
Meanwhile, veteran centre-back Harry Maguire featured in the same session, despite not traveling with the squad to the U.S. Maguire’s presence confirmed that he is not sidelined by injury but remains behind due to personal commitments. He is expected to join the tour at a later date.
The club’s official website further emphasized Mbeumo’s eagerness to integrate quickly into the squad. Coach Ruben Amorim’s side will look to foster early connections on and off the pitch during the club’s participation in the Premier League Summer Series. Mbeumo spoke of the importance of building team unity, both during training and throughout the upcoming tour.
He also acknowledged his excitement about forming new attacking partnerships—particularly with fellow new arrival Matheus Cunha, whom he frequently praised. The United attacker referenced his previous successful collaborations, including with Ivan Toney at Brentford and more recently with Yoanne Wissa, as he expressed optimism for his future partnerships at Manchester United.
While it remains uncertain if Mbeumo will make his first appearance during the pre-season opener against West Ham United in New Jersey, United fans can expect to witness his debut at one of the tour’s upcoming fixtures.
