Jordan Henderson Set for Premier League Comeback with Brentford Move
Jordan Henderson is on the verge of completing a surprise return to the Premier League, with Brentford set to finalise a deal for the former Liverpool captain today.
The 34-year-old midfielder, who recently parted ways with Ajax after a brief stint in the Eredivisie, is expected to sign a two-year contract with the West London club. Henderson’s move marks another chapter in his remarkable career, which has seen him lead Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League glory and later take on new challenges in Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands.
Despite receiving interest from clubs like Porto, Sunderland, and Nottingham Forest, Henderson has chosen Brentford as his next destination. He is scheduled to undergo a medical today, with an official announcement expected soon.
The move will see Henderson reunite with familiar faces—goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, as well as defenders Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho, all former Liverpool teammates who joined Brentford earlier this summer. He’s also set to fill the void left by Christian Nørgaard, who recently completed a switch to Arsenal.
This Premier League return could also reignite Henderson’s international ambitions, as he remains keen on representing England in the 2026 World Cup. His leadership and experience will be vital for a Brentford side looking to push further up the table under new manager Keith Andrews.
