Jordan Henderson Returns to Premier League with Brentford on Two-Year Deal
Jordan Henderson has inked a two-year contract with Brentford, marking his return to the Premier League. The 35‑year‑old England international joins the club following a mutual agreement to terminate his contract with Ajax, which was originally set to run until summer 2026 .
Henderson, a decorated former Liverpool captain and Champions League winner, boasts 84 England caps and numerous honours from his 12‑year Anfield tenure. His recent career includes a brief stint at Saudi Arabia’s Al‑Ettifaq in 2023, followed by an 18‑month spell at Ajax where he made 57 appearances and scored once .
Brentford, under new head coach Keith Andrews, have welcomed Henderson as a pivotal figure in a period of transition. With Christian Nørgaard’s move to Arsenal, along with departures including Mark Flekken and Ben Mee, the experienced midfielder is seen as an ideal replacement to anchor and mentor the squad .
