Federico Chiesa has been left out of Liverpool’s 29-man squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, amid growing speculation that the Italian forward could leave the club this summer.
Chiesa, who joined from Juventus last season, struggled for regular minutes at Anfield due to injury setbacks and competition in the forward line. With playing time limited under Arne Slot, the decision to omit him from the tour appears to signal an impending departure. Several clubs in Italy, including Inter Milan and Napoli, as well as Turkish sides, are reportedly monitoring his situation.
Despite limited opportunities, Chiesa showed flashes of quality in training and domestic cup appearances. However, with Italy’s national team manager encouraging him to seek regular playing time ahead of future tournaments, a move away from Liverpool seems increasingly likely. The 26-year-old has also indicated that while he enjoys being at the club, discussions about his future are ongoing.
Liverpool's pre-season squad features a mix of experienced players and new signings, underlining the club's intent to build a balanced and competitive side for the upcoming season.
