The 23-year-old winger arrives from Chelsea in a deal reportedly worth up to £52 million, including add-ons. After completing his medical and signing a five-year contract, Madueke becomes Arsenal’s fourth major signing of the summer.
In his first comments as a Gunner, Madueke said: “I’m somebody who goes with my gut feeling… I think it’s going to be a great success and I’m really happy to be here.” He also revealed that being closer to family played a key role in his decision.
Madueke impressed last season with 11 goals and 5 assists in 41 appearances for Chelsea. Before his time at Stamford Bridge, he came through the youth systems of Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and PSV Eindhoven, where he made his professional breakthrough.
He revealed he had spoken to Arsenal players Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Jurrien Timber before making the move. “They all say amazing things about the club and the culture here—how warm it is and how much of a family it is,” he said
Madueke is expected to join the Arsenal squad in early August and could make his debut later this month during their pre-season tour in Asia.
