
He departed Nigeria on June 28, 2025, beginning his visit with a state trip to Saint Lucia aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s engagement with Caribbean nations and enhancing South–South cooperation. His arrival coincided with Saint Lucia’s 45th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
On July 4, Tinubu traveled to Brazil to attend the 17th BRICS Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro from July 6 to 7. During the summit, he held bilateral talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, discussing areas such as trade expansion, infrastructure financing, and cultural exchange.
The return flight departed Galeão International Airport at 12:50 p.m. Rio time (around 4:50 p.m. Nigerian time), aboard a San Marino-registered BBJ with registration T7-NAS.
At the airport in Abuja, President Tinubu was received by top government officials including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, the Minister of State for Defence, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, and Ibrahim Masari.
This marks his 41st foreign trip since taking office in May 2023, covering 28 countries across various continents. His most visited country is France with six trips, followed by the United Kingdom with four, and the United Arab Emirates with three. He has also visited the United States, China, India, Saudi Arabia, and several African nations.
