He faces five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three women, with the alleged incidents taking place between 2021 and 2022. Two rape charges relate to the first complainant, three to the second, and the sexual assault to a third woman. The investigation began in February 2022 after the first report was made.
Partey is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, 2025. Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy highlighted the importance of supporting the complainants and encouraged anyone with relevant information to come forward. CPS official Jaswant Narwal confirmed the charges followed a detailed review of the evidence and urged the public to avoid comments that could impact the fairness of the legal process.
Partey, through his lawyer Jenny Wiltshire, has denied all allegations. His legal team stated that he has fully cooperated with authorities during the three-year investigation and is confident of clearing his name. He will not be making further public comments while legal proceedings are ongoing.
Partey joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in October 2020 for approximately £45 million. He made over 160 appearances for the club before becoming a free agent on June 30, 2025. He has also earned 53 caps and scored 15 goals for Ghana, and won the 2018 Europa League and UEFA Super Cup with Atlético Madrid.
