Tottenham Confirm £55M Signing of Mohammed Kudus

Tottenham Hotspur have officially secured the transfer of Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United in a £55 million deal, excluding potential add‑ons .
The North London club’s initial £50 million offer was rejected, as the add‑ons were tied to team success—specifically, winning the Premier League or Champions League. Spurs ultimately agreed to a fixed fee to complete the transfer . Kudus has committed to a long-term contract—widely reported as a six‑year deal running until 2031—demonstrating his belief in manager Thomas Frank’s project and development philosophy .

Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023, scored 13 goals and delivered 12 assists across two seasons in East London. He made an immediate impact in his debut campaign (eight goals and nine assists in 33 league games) before experiencing a dip in form last season under successive managers Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter .

He becomes the first player to move directly between West Ham and Tottenham since Scott Parker’s transfer in 2011, marking a rare cross-rival deal .

This signing is Tottenham’s third under new manager Thomas Frank, following permanent acquisitions of Mathys Tel and Japanese defender Kota Takai. Spurs are also reportedly closing in on Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs‑White and considering a bid for Yoane Wissa from Brentford .

Kudus is expected to add versatility and creative spark to Frank’s counter‑attacking system, capable of playing as a winger or central midfielder. Despite disciplinary concerns—he previously received a five‑match ban and £60,000 fine for an on‑field altercation with Spurs in October—Tottenham view him as a valuable asset for their ambitions in both the Premier League and Europe .

Mohammed Kudus is expected to wear the No. 20 shirt and brings a promising blend of dribbling ability, tactical flexibility, and Premier League experience. His arrival signals Tottenham’s intent to reinforce their attacking midfield and wide play, underlining the club’s ambitions following recent silverware success in the Europa League.
