Tottenham Close In on £55 Million Deal for Mohammed Kudus
Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with West Ham United to sign Ghanaian forward Mohammed Kudus in a deal worth approximately £55 million, to be paid in installments over three years. The transfer fee marks a discount from the initial £85 million release clause that expired in early July.
Kudus, 24, is scheduled for his final medical this Thursday before signing a six-year contract with Spurs. This move represents the first direct transfer from West Ham to Tottenham since Scott Parker in 2011.
Despite a dip in form—scoring five goals and providing four assists across all competitions last season—Kudus had a strong debut campaign at West Ham, recording eight league goals and nine assists in 2023–24. His performances last season were disrupted by suspension following a red card against Spurs. Additionally, Graham Potter’s tactical adjustments saw him played out of position, limiting his overall impact.
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank reportedly views Kudus as a dynamic option on the right wing, where he is expected to compete with captain Jarrod Bowen. The move signals Tottenham’s ambition as they continue to strengthen their squad. Kudus will become their third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Mathys Tel and Kota Takai.
This signing highlights Spurs’ commitment to revitalizing their attack and pushing for stronger performances both domestically and in European competitions.
