Arsenal Land Brentford Skipper Christian Nørgaard in £10m Deal
Arsenal have bolstered their midfield with the signing of Danish international Christian Nørgaard from Brentford in a deal worth around £10 million.
The experienced midfielder, who captained the Bees and made over 120 Premier League appearances, becomes the Gunners’ third signing of the summer. He joins following the exits of Thomas Partey and Jorginho, bringing leadership, composure, and Premier League know-how to Mikel Arteta’s side.
Nørgaard, 31, has agreed to a two-year contract with an option for a third. He is expected to wear the number 16 shirt and will link up with the squad ahead of their pre-season fixtures.
Speaking after completing the move, the former Brentford captain said it was a dream come true.
“Playing in the Champions League was something I never thought would happen. Joining a club like Arsenal, with its history and ambition, is a proud moment for me.”
Mikel Arteta was full of praise for the new recruit, highlighting his tactical awareness and leadership qualities as key reasons for the signing.

The move marks a step up for Nørgaard after six impressive seasons with Brentford, where he was a fan favourite for his tenacity and consistency in the middle of the park.
With Nørgaard now in the ranks alongside summer arrivals Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martín Zubimendi, Arsenal are shaping up to mount a serious challenge both domestically and in Europe. The Gunners kick off their Premier League campaign against Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 17.
