Slot expressed cautious optimism regarding Konate’s condition, suggesting the issue may be minor. “He thinks it is cramp and I have no reason to doubt him,” Slot said. “Although sometimes players talk about cramp and then we make a scan and it is more than that. Let’s wait and see”.

The manager also addressed Wirtz’s situation, clarifying that the midfielder had not sustained an injury. “It wasn’t an injury, it was a welcome to the Premier League,” Slot remarked. “After 85 minutes, I don't think he knew he could have cramp in so many different places. That’s what happened”.
