Among those present was summer signing Eberechi Eze, whose creativity and flair have quickly made him an exciting addition to the squad. His ability to unlock defences could prove vital against a Liverpool side renowned for their high press and intensity.
Also in attendance was captain Martin Ødegaard, who has been managing a shoulder injury sustained in last weekend’s win over Leeds United. The Norwegian playmaker did not take part in full training during the week, but his inclusion in the travelling party to Merseyside is a positive sign.
A late fitness test will determine whether Ødegaard starts at Anfield, but his presence alone is a boost for the Gunners, who are already without Bukayo Saka and several other key players. With the title race still finely poised, Arsenal will be hoping to carry the composure of their morning walk into the intensity of the evening’s showdown.
