Manchester United’s newest signing, Benjamin Šeško, officially began his journey at Carrington this week, participating in his first training session under manager Rúben Amorim. The 22-year-old Slovenian striker, acquired from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £66 million, wasted no time making an impression.
Šeško showcased his athleticism and sharpness throughout the session, particularly drawing attention with a powerful diving header that highlighted his aerial prowess. Standing at 6ft 5in, his physical presence is expected to be a major asset in United’s attacking setup, especially when paired with Bryan Mbeumo’s crossing ability.
The session also marked Šeško’s integration into the squad, linking up with teammates including Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Højlund. While he was not pictured wearing a numbered shirt, it’s anticipated he will retain the No.30 jersey he wore at both RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig. Diego Leon, previously assigned No.30, has switched to No.35 to accommodate the new arrival.
In addition to Šeško’s debut, the training session brought positive news for United fans: both André Onana and Joshua Zirkzee returned to action following injury layoffs. Onana is expected to start in the upcoming fixture against Arsenal, while Zirkzee’s availability remains uncertain.
Rúben Amorim expressed enthusiasm about Šeško’s work ethic and potential. “He’s good in the air, runs the channels well, and is technically sound,” Amorim said. “He’s the right character for this group, and we’re thrilled to have him.”
Šeško is now preparing for his highly anticipated debut at Old Trafford against Arsenal this weekend, where fans will get their first glimpse of United’s new attacking weapon.
