The thrilling final at the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado saw Colombia take the lead three times during regular time. Linda Caicedo opened the scoring in the 25th minute, before Angelina equalised from the penalty spot just before halftime. An own goal by Brazil's Tarciane in the second half put Colombia ahead again, only for Amanda Gutierres to level the match at 2–2 in the 80th minute.
Colombia struck again just two minutes later through Mayra Ramírez, but Brazil responded deep into stoppage time as veteran forward Marta came off the bench to fire home from long range, sending the match into extra time. Marta added another goal in the 105th minute to give Brazil a 4–3 lead, but Leicy Santos responded for Colombia with a stunning free-kick equaliser in the 115th minute.
The match was ultimately decided by penalties, where Brazil goalkeeper Lorena made the crucial save against Jorelyn Carabali to seal the win, despite Marta missing an earlier spot kick.
Amanda Gutierres, who finished as one of the tournament’s top scorers, praised the team’s resilience, stating, “That mentality of never giving up… that’s a source of pride for Brazil.”
This victory reinforces Brazil's dominance in South American women’s football, marking their fourth consecutive title and ninth overall in ten editions of the competition. Both Brazil and Colombia also secured qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
