In response to Atalanta turning down Inter Milan’s latest €42 million offer plus bonuses—or €45 million in total—Lookman has unfollowed the club on Instagram, removed all references to Atalanta from his bio, deleted posts featuring him in the club's colours, and replaced his profile picture, which previously showed him in Atalanta’s jersey.
Inter Milan had earlier submitted a €40 million proposal before raising it to €42 million with an additional €3 million in add-ons. Both offers were rejected by Atalanta, who are holding out for a fee close to €50 million. Despite interest from Atlético Madrid and Napoli, Lookman is believed to have agreed personal terms with Inter, signing off on a five-year contract worth between €4.5 and €5 million per season. However, reports suggest Atalanta prefer to sell him outside Serie A to avoid strengthening a domestic rival.
The winger was absent from Atalanta’s pre-season match against RB Leipzig on August 2 due to a calf injury, which could sideline him for several weeks. This injury further clouds the situation as negotiations continue behind the scenes.
With Lookman pushing for the move and Inter reportedly keen to get the deal done, the transfer could still materialise before the window closes—if both clubs find common ground on the final fee.
