Popular Nigerian socialite and entrepreneur, Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has publicly expressed his disappointment after being denied a U.S. visa, preventing him from attending the high-profile wedding of his close friend, Afrobeats superstar Davido, and his partner Chioma in Miami, Florida.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Cubana Chief Priest shared his emotional turmoil, describing his feelings as “mixed”—joy for the couple’s union and sadness over his absence at the ceremony. He attributed his visa denial to longstanding issues stemming from errors in a previous application, which he said continue to affect his chances of entry into the United States.
Despite the setback, he extended warm wishes to the newlyweds, writing: “I’m wishing my best friend @davido & his beautiful wife @thechefchi an amazing wedlock.”
He also made a passionate appeal to the U.S. Mission in Nigeria (@usinnigeria) and the Nigerian government, urging them to assist in resolving his visa challenges:
“You can clearly see how disappointed and hurt the world is to see me absent at my best friend’s wedding. Do it for me this time.”
Cubana Chief Priest emphasized that while he was not physically present, his family—including his wife—attended the event, representing him in spirit. He concluded his message with optimism, stating his intention to reapply for a visa and his hope to eventually experience life in the U.S.
The lavish wedding, which reportedly cost over $3.7 million, drew celebrities and dignitaries from around the world, making Cubana Chief Priest’s absence all the more notable
