Iñigo Martínez Signs with Al Nassr After Barcelona Exit

Spanish international Iñigo Martínez has officially joined Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr following his departure from FC Barcelona. The 34-year-old center-back terminated his contract with the Catalan giants and signed with Al Nassr as a free agent, with a deal running through June 2026 and an option to extend until 2027.
Martínez is reportedly set to earn approximately €10 million net per season in Saudi Arabia—nearly double his previous salary at Barcelona. His exit also frees up around €14 million in wages for Barcelona, providing the club with greater flexibility under LaLiga’s financial fair play regulations.

Martínez joined Barcelona in 2023 from Athletic Club and played a key role in the club’s domestic treble-winning campaign, securing LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup titles. Prior to his stint at Barça, he had successful spells with Real Sociedad and Athletic Club, earning 21 caps for the Spanish national team.

At Al Nassr, Martínez will join a star-studded squad featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Aymeric Laporte, and newly signed Joao Felix. His arrival is part of the club’s continued push to attract top European talent and strengthen its defensive line ahead of the upcoming Saudi Super Cup semi-final against Al Ittihad.
