Jack Grealish Completes Season-Long Loan Move to Everton with Option to Buy

Everton Football Club has officially announced the signing of England international Jack Grealish on a season-long loan from Manchester City for the 2025/26 campaign. The deal includes an option for Everton to make the move permanent next summer for a reported £50 million.

Grealish, 29, arrives at Goodison Park seeking a fresh start after falling down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola at City. Despite a decorated tenure that included three Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and a Champions League triumph, the winger struggled for consistent playing time last season, making just one league start.

Speaking to Everton's media team, Grealish expressed his enthusiasm for the move:   “I’m over the moon to have signed for Everton. It’s massive for me, honestly. This is a great club, with great fans. As soon as I spoke to the manager, I knew there was only one place I wanted to go.”

He also revealed his decision to wear the No. 18 shirt was inspired by Everton legends Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne:   “There were other numbers, but my two favourite English players ever are Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, and I know they both wore number 18 here. So as soon as I knew this deal was close, I had a look and number 18 was free. It was the only number I was going to take.”

Everton manager David Moyes praised the acquisition, stating:   “We’re getting Jack at a good time. He’s experienced, understands the Premier League, and we’re fully aware of the levels he’s capable of performing to. His ambition to return to the England squad is clear, and we’ll do everything we can to support that.”

Grealish is expected to make his debut in Everton’s Premier League opener against Leeds United on August 18. With the World Cup on the horizon, the move offers him a vital opportunity to regain form and stake his claim for a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad.
