Luis Enrique Addresses Donnarumma’s Omission from PSG Squad

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has confirmed that Gianluigi Donnarumma has been left out of the squad for the upcoming UEFA Super Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur. Speaking to Sky Sport, Enrique emphasized that the decision was entirely his own.

“Donnarumma is out of the squad as it’s my own decision. I am 100% responsible,” Enrique stated. “I want a different kind of goalkeeper and I made this decision. Gigio is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”

The exclusion of Donnarumma, who played a pivotal role in PSG’s treble-winning campaign last season, has sparked speculation about his future at the club. Reports suggest that PSG may be preparing for his departure, with Lucas Chevalier expected to take over as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.

Donnarumma, whose contract runs until 2026, is expected to address the situation publicly in the coming days. His camp has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the circumstances surrounding his omission.
