Mohbad’s Widow Breaks Silence After VDM Leaks Heated Phone Exchange

Omowunmi Aloba, popularly known as Wunmi, the widow of the late singer Ilerioluwa “Mohbad” Aloba, has broken her silence following the viral release of a private phone conversation by social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

VDM shared what appeared to be a heated voice exchange between Wunmi and Mohbad in which contentious remarks were exchanged. Among the most striking was Mohbad’s reported assertion that his wife wanted him out of the picture, a statement that quickly ignited widespread speculation online.

In response, Wunmi shared a video clip of DJ Chicken on her Instagram—apparently a metaphorical expression of her emotional state amid the controversy. She also notably wrote, "I love this girl," a comment that resonated with many followers and supporters who rallied to her defense.

The controversy intersected with a larger narrative surrounding Mohbad’s death, paternity issues regarding his son Liam, and ongoing disputes involving VDM. Earlier in March 2025, Wunmi publicly called out VDM for what she characterized as prolonged harassment and unfounded accusations—especially those questioning Liam’s paternity. She denounced his conduct as an attempt to distract from the broader pursuit of justice for her late husband.

VDM, for his part, has maintained that his actions stem from concern over unresolved issues in the case, including allegations of foul play and questions surrounding Mohbad’s untimely demise.
