Madueke did not travel with the squad for their pre-season tour of Asia due to his involvement with Chelsea at the Club World Cup. However, he is now fit and ready to link up with Mikel Arteta’s side ahead of upcoming friendlies against Villarreal on August 6 and Athletic Bilbao in the Emirates Cup on August 9.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is eager to get the winger involved quickly, especially as he looks to strengthen the squad’s attacking depth before the new season begins. Although traditionally a right winger, Madueke is also expected to offer tactical flexibility on the left, a position that posed some concerns during the Gunners’ recent pre-season loss to Tottenham.
The 22-year-old’s pace, creativity, and dribbling ability are seen as key assets for Arsenal, and Arteta believes he can offer strong competition for Bukayo Saka while also providing new attacking dimensions on the opposite flank.
With his first training session set and pre-season matches ahead, Madueke is poised to make his unofficial debut for Arsenal in the coming week as the club finalises preparations for the 2025/26 campaign.
