Bayern Munich Suffer Injury Setback Ahead Champions League Clash with Chelsea

Bayern Munich have been handed a significant setback ahead of their UEFA Champions League opener against Chelsea, as left-back Raphaël Guerreiro has been ruled out due to injury.
The Portuguese international sustained a minor abdominal muscle injury during Bayern’s emphatic 5–0 victory over Hamburg in the Bundesliga last weekend. Guerreiro, who came on at halftime, was forced off in the 63rd minute and has since undergone an MRI scan to assess the extent of the damage.

Bayern confirmed the diagnosis on Monday, stating that Guerreiro will miss at least two upcoming fixtures, including the highly anticipated clash against Chelsea at the Allianz Arena. His absence compounds the club’s defensive woes, with fellow left-backs Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito also sidelined.

Manager Vincent Kompany now faces a selection dilemma, likely turning to right-back Josip Stanišić to fill the void on the left flank. The reshuffled backline will be tested against a resurgent Chelsea side returning to Champions League action after a two-year absence.
