Crystal Palace have officially announced the signing of Nigerian international Christantus Uche from La Liga side Getafe. The 22-year-old forward joins the Premier League club on a season-long loan, with the deal finalized just hours before the close of the summer transfer window.
Uche arrives at Selhurst Park following a breakout season in Spain, where he registered four goals and six assists in 33 league appearances, helping Getafe avoid relegation. Known for his versatility, Uche began his career as a central defender before transitioning into midfield and eventually emerging as a dynamic attacking threat.

Palace manager Oliver Glasner views Uche as a key reinforcement following the departure of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal. The Nigerian forward will wear the number 12 jersey and is expected to play a pivotal role in the club’s revamped attacking lineup.

Uche becomes the sixth Nigerian to represent Crystal Palace, joining the ranks of Victor Moses, Shola Ameobi, and George Ndah. His arrival also coincides with his call-up to the Nigerian national team for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with a private jet reportedly arranged to fly him to Uyo ahead of matches against Rwanda and South Africa.
