Tsimikas joined Liverpool from Olympiacos in 2020 and made 115 appearances across all competitions. During his tenure at Anfield, he contributed to the club’s success in winning the Premier League, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Community Shield. Notably, he scored the decisive penalty in the shootout victory over Chelsea in the 2022 FA Cup final.
The move comes after Liverpool’s acquisition of Milos Kerkez earlier this summer, which pushed Tsimikas further down the pecking order behind Kerkez and Andrew Robertson. With limited opportunities expected, Roma emerged as a suitable destination, offering the defender a chance to play regular football and compete in both Serie A and the Europa League this season.
Tsimikas has chosen to wear the No.12 shirt at Roma and becomes the eighth Greek player to represent the Giallorossi, following in the footsteps of notable names such as Kostas Manolas and Vasilios Torosidis.
