Zinedine Zidane’s son, Luca Zidane, has been called up to the Algerian national team after officially switching his sporting allegiance from France. FIFA approved the change in September 2025.

He was included in Algeria’s 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Somalia on October 10 and Uganda on October 14.

In the match against Somalia, Algeria secured a 3–0 victory, with goals from Mohamed Amoura, who scored twice, and Riyad Mahrez. The win ensured Algeria’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
