U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his excitement after meeting members of the British royal family during his official state visit to the United Kingdom.
The President and First Lady Melania Trump were warmly received at Windsor Castle by King Charles III, Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and other senior royals. The visit featured a ceremonial welcome, a carriage procession through the castle grounds, and a formal state banquet in the President’s honor.
During the engagements, President Trump was seen greeting Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, with a handshake. According to reports, he complimented the Princess, calling her “beautiful” as they exchanged greetings. Later, at the state banquet, he reiterated his admiration, saying:
“Melania and I are delighted to visit again with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness Princess Catherine so radiant, so healthy, and so beautiful.”
The President also took to social media to share his enthusiasm about the visit, posting:
“An incredible honor to be welcomed once again by the Royal Family at Windsor Castle. My relationship with the United Kingdom is very strong, and it is a privilege to celebrate the enduring bond between our nations.”
This marks President Trump’s second state visit to the U.K., following his first in 2019. He described the rare honor of being invited twice as “a great privilege,” emphasizing the close ties between the United States and the United Kingdom.
The visit also included a wreath-laying ceremony at Queen Elizabeth II’s resting place in St. George’s Chapel and a scheduled meeting with Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss trade and international cooperation.
