Rúben Neves pointed to the sky and proudly displayed his tattoo of Diogo Jota after scoring his first-ever goal for Portugal in their World Cup 2026 qualifying match today.
Portugal secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over the Republic of Ireland, with Neves netting the decisive goal in the 91st minute. The midfielder connected with a precise cross from Francisco Trincão, sending a powerful header past the Irish goalkeeper to seal the win.

It was an emotional moment for Neves, who dedicated the goal to his late compatriot by revealing the Diogo Jota tattoo on his leg and looking upward in tribute.
