Xabi Alonso Confirms Dani Carvajal Ruled Out for Up to Eight Weeks Ahead of Real Madrid’s Clash with Valencia

Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Dani Carvajal will be sidelined for roughly 7–8 weeks following a knee problem that has necessitated an arthroscopic procedure.
According to club medical reports, Carvajal has been diagnosed with a loose intra-articular body in his right knee and will undergo surgery, marking yet another setback in his injury-plagued recent years.

Alonso stated that while Carvajal’s absence is a blow, the team will “wait for him” and prioritise his full recovery rather than hurry him back. Meanwhile, the next fixture for Real Madrid is this weekend, when they face Valencia CF in La Liga.

The timing couldn’t be worse given Carvajal’s importance as captain and right-back. With him out, Alonso may need to deploy alternatives such as Federico Valverde at full-back or reshuffle the defensive setup entirely. The club confirmed Carvajal’s surgery and specified only that he will “be out for at least six weeks” with some reports extending that to three months
