Everton suffered a heavy 4–1 defeat today at home against Newcastle United in a disappointing Premier League outing.
The Blues conceded inside the first minute after Malick Thiaw struck what became the fastest goal of the season, immediately putting Everton under pressure. Newcastle doubled their lead before the break through Lewis Miley, and Nick Woltemade added a third with a composed lob just before half-time.
Everton managed to pull one goal back in the 69th minute through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but any hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Thiaw added his second of the game to restore Newcastle’s dominance.
Defensive errors — including a costly mistake from goalkeeper Jordan Pickford — contributed to a frustrating performance for Everton, who were repeatedly exposed throughout the match. It was ultimately a difficult afternoon for the home side as Newcastle claimed a commanding victory.
