Former Chelsea and Brazil midfielder Oscar is currently under medical observation after experiencing cardiac irregularities during a routine fitness assessment with São Paulo FC.

The 34-year-old, who recently joined São Paulo, was undergoing pre-season physical evaluations at the club’s Barra Funda training center on Tuesday, November 11, when he reportedly felt unwell while using an exercise bicycle. According to sources cited by ESPN Brasil, Oscar briefly lost consciousness during the session.

São Paulo FC confirmed that the club’s medical staff, along with professionals from Einstein Hospital Israelita, responded immediately. Oscar was promptly transferred to the hospital, where he remains in clinically stable condition and is undergoing further tests to determine the cause of the incident.

In a message shared on social media, Oscar sought to reassure fans, writing: “Thank you very much for the messages and prayers. Everything will be fine, God willing.” The post was met with an outpouring of support from fans across Brazil, including those from his former club Internacional.

The club has stated that it will continue to monitor Oscar’s condition closely and will provide updates in accordance with medical guidance and the player’s privacy.

Oscar, who made his name at Chelsea and represented Brazil at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, had recently returned to Brazilian football after several years playing in China. His health scare has sparked concern across the football community, with teammates and supporters rallying behind him during his recovery.
