Nigerian Afro-gospel singer and songwriter, Akinade Ibuoye, popularly known as Gaise Baba, has announced the death of his father, Prince (Barr.) Ezekiel Gbadebo Ibuoye, the Ààrẹ Apọ́nlẹ́sẹ̀ of Okemesi Ekiti in Ekiti State.

The respected community leader passed away on Saturday, November 22, at exactly 7:31 p.m., a date that poignantly marked seven months and seven days after the death of his wife, Gaise Baba’s mother.

In a heartfelt statement shared on his social media page, the singer expressed gratitude to God for his father’s life and legacy, even amid the pain of loss. He wrote:   “On Saturday night, the 22nd of November, at 7:31 p.m., my Father – PRINCE (BARR.) EZEKIEL GBADEBO IBUOYE, Ààrẹ Apọ́nlẹ́sẹ̀ of Okemesi Ekiti, went home to be with the Lord, exactly SEVEN (7) months and SEVEN (7) days after his wife, our mother, passed on. No guilt in life, no fear in death. Even with the pain of physical departure, we yield to God, and in all things, we give Him thanks.”

The announcement has drawn an outpouring of condolences from fans, fellow artistes, and well-wishers, who have taken to social media to comfort the singer and his family.

Prince Ezekiel Gbadebo Ibuoye was not only a father but also a respected figure in Okemesi-Ekiti, where he held a traditional title and contributed significantly to community development. His passing represents a profound loss to both his family and the wider community.
