Jessie J, the British pop star, delivered an emotional performance in London as she introduced songs from her newly released album Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time. The singer, 37, broke down in tears while performing her track Comes in Waves, a song inspired by the miscarriage she suffered in 2021.
British singer-songwriter Jessie J became visibly emotional during a recent performance in London, where she debuted music from her new album Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time. The Grammy-nominated artist paused mid-show as she introduced Comes in Waves, a deeply personal track reflecting on the miscarriage she endured in 2021.
Addressing the audience, Jessie shared that the performance coincided with the anniversary of her loss. “Today marks four years since I lost my baby,” she said, acknowledging the profound grief that continues to shape her music. She described miscarriage as “something you can’t ever really prepare to go through,” dedicating the song to anyone who has experienced similar pain or supported someone through it.
Her new album, released on November 28, not only explores themes of loss but also reflects her journey of healing following both her pregnancy loss and a breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year. Despite the challenges, Jessie has found joy in motherhood, having welcomed her son Sky with partner Chanan Safir Colman in May 2023.
