Nigerian businesswoman and socialite Sophia Momodu has publicly rebuked online critics who accused her of preventing her daughter, Imade Adeleke, from attending the 33rd birthday celebration of her father, Afrobeats superstar Davido (David Adeleke), held in Atlanta, USA.

In a candid Snapchat post, Momodu dismissed the circulating rumors as fabricated and deliberately distorted narratives designed to vilify her. She emphasized her longstanding role as a fiercely protective mother, urging the public to refrain from involving her child in baseless social media controversies.
"You people have been doing this false narrative thing for over 10 years now," Momodu wrote. "And while I try to be as graceful as I can, I’m also a very protective mother. Say whatever you want about me, it’s ok. But leave my child alone. This is non-negotiable. Imade is not a bargaining chip for her mother to conform."
The backlash stemmed from Imade's noticeable absence at the high-profile event, which drew family and friends, including Davido's daughter Hailey from another relationship. Momodu has also hinted at pursuing legal action against those spreading misinformation about her daughter's well-being, underscoring her commitment to safeguarding Imade's privacy amid ongoing public scrutiny.
