AFCON 2025: Eric Chelle Releases 54-Man Provisional Squad for Nigeria

Éric Sékou Chelle has officially announced the provisional squad for AFCON 2025, releasing a 54‑ or 55‑man list that combines experienced internationals, returning regulars, and several domestic‑league talents. 

The squad features headline names such as Victor Osimhen, William Troost‑Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, and Stanley Nwabali, highlighting a core of experience and quality. 

Other established players like Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, and Semi Ajayi are also included, alongside several home‑based players, underlining Chelle’s commitment to exploring local talent. 

The final roster is expected to be trimmed to 28 players ahead of a training camp starting in Egypt on 10 December 2025. Nigeria has been drawn into Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda.
