Saliba — who missed the weekend draw with Chelsea because of a “little niggle” — is reportedly closing in on a return. Arteta said: “He had a little niggle… it’s going to be a matter of days. Let’s see if he’s able to be there tomorrow.”
Trossard’s situation is similar. The winger — absent against Chelsea through an ankle problem — is also expected to be back imminently, with Arteta noting: “Matter of days as well.”
The Chelsea clash over the weekend ended in a draw as Arsenal fielded a reshuffled defence in Saliba's absence. With upcoming fixtures, Arteta now hopes to have both Saliba and Trossard — key figures for both defensive solidity and attacking options — back in the squad.
As Arsenal prepare for their midweek Premier League fixture at home against Brentford, uncertainty remains. According to recent reports the club may again be without Saliba and Trossard, although both remain on course to return soon.
