He was 40 years old. The incident occurred when Warras, whose real name is Warrick Stock, was approached by three unknown suspects who opened fire at him before fleeing the scene on foot.

Warras was a well-known figure in South African media, having hosted youth-oriented radio shows on stations like YFM and 5FM, and presenting on SABC1's music show Live Amp. He had recently launched his own security firm, JT VIP, which provides elite protection services.

The motive behind the shooting is currently unknown, but police are investigating the possibility of a link to hijacked buildings in the area, as Warras was involved in managing and inspecting properties through his security company.

Tributes have poured in from friends, colleagues, and fans, remembering Warras as a loving, compassionate, and friendly person. His sister Nicole described him as "broken" and "shattered" by the loss, while businessman Rob Hersov praised Warras as a "most loving, compassionate, friendly, honest, open, and decent human being".

Warras' death has sparked an outpouring of grief and concern about the rising violence faced by public figures in South Africa. He is survived by his three sons.
